singing/songwriting career at the age of 2, inventing songs almost as soon as she could speak. It wasn't
until many years later, however, that she decided to share her special gift with the
world. Devastated by losing 2 immediate family members in 1985, Marilisa began writing
songs as a way of dealing with her grief. The music helped in healing and offered a
release from her pain. Inspired by this, Marilisa found it more and more natural to
translate her personal experiences into words and tunes - using a bluesy folk style with a
touch of jazz to communicate her universal messages of love, strength and grit. Marilisa
performs regularly in Austin and around the Hill Country.
