Hill Country Artist Marilisa

began her singing/songwriting career at the age of 2, inventing songs almost as soon as she could speak. It wasn't until many years later, however, that she decided to share her special gift with the world. Devastated by losing 2 immediate family members in 1985, Marilisa began writing songs as a way of dealing with her grief. The music helped in healing and offered a release from her pain. Inspired by this, Marilisa found it more and more natural to translate her personal experiences into words and tunes - using a bluesy folk style with a touch of jazz to communicate her universal messages of love, strength and grit. Marilisa performs regularly in Austin and around the Hill Country.
